እንደ መግቢያ … አንድ
We all feel it. There is an imminent curtain of doom and
gloom everywhere around us. Whether we are going to Church, to unburden our grief and cleanse our
souls from sin and guilt, to seek shelter from worldly troubles, or… when we
are going to work, in the middle of a conversation with a friend, having dinner
with our family, buying something from a shop, bringing our kid back from
school - it is there in the back of our thoughts, trickling down our senses,
seeping through our veins and slowly, but surely, eroding our souls into
futility and hopelessness. We may not be
immediately aware of it, nor would we want to admit it out right. But it is
there, no doubt about it – ever present, always lurking. It whispers a thousand
echoes bouncing unceasingly in our mind all smeared with one phrase: EVERYTHING
IS GETTING WORSE!
It seems all we hear and see nowadays is full of bad
news. Conflicts among the clergy, Churches and monasteries destroyed, a Synod
which turns a blind eye when the church’s interests is being overtaken by
Godless government officials and heretic religious organizations; which is
instead more preoccupied with promoting the so called ‘religious tolerance’ and
cosmetic economic progresses (such as building the ‘Renaissance’ Dam), a
nationwide silence and complacency when ነባሩ ክርስቲያናዊ
ባህል በአረማዊነት አራሙቻ ሲወረር, when orthodoxy is slowly being disinherited
from its spiritual treasures, …
Almost everyone we come across are not satisfied with
their lives. Almost every conversation we have is tainted with complaints. It
may be oil prices, or the quality of the food we eat, or the education our kids
are receiving. Dissatisfaction is creeping everywhere… talk of broken marriages,
ግብረሰዶማዊነት, someone we know
contracting despicable diseases, someone else being fired or quitting, another
committing suicide. Junk food, junk music, junk ‘knowledge’, foul and
disgusting insults. Almost always our chit chats seem to wind up on cursing these
depressing times and a dreamy yearning for the good old times.
Time to run away from all this! We have to find a way to
escape from this never ending rain of disappointment and discontent! ... Aha!
Got it! Time to switch the TV on! But
the news is filled with more nerve-wrecking disappointments. Someone somewhere
murdered people, waged war, triggered revolutions, overthrew governments… cars
crashing, buildings tumbling, prices rising, bankruptcy spreading… it never
ends. Every evening it’s the same - Cute faced and suit wearing gentlemen
/journalists/ on ETV telling us in a reassuring manner that we are drowning
into despair.
But it’s not that bad! It’s not just us! At least
everyone else we know is also on the same bus. Plus the government is promising
that things are going to get better. Corrupt officials would soon get what they
deserve, there will be more jobs, dams and roads are under construction, projects
with lots of job opportunities are under way… We are heading for a better and
brighter future! Or are we?
We slowly start to wake up to the blurry realization that
the ‘bright’ light that we have been seeing in the distant future is nothing
but a mirage – an illusion! Somehow as
years go by we find out that we are only getting older, sorer and poorer. And
those guys we know who rarely make it and got to become rich…well we find out
from someone that they have cheated or stolen in some way. High paying jobs are
pretty hard to come by. And even when an opening is made available it seems only
those who joined some new fancy religions or a political party or those who
have highly posted cousins seem to be getting them. Life starts to feel like
those silent black and white movies of the 1920’s – dull, dark and blurry.
Hence these false reassurances soon fade away and ever more pressing practical
issues start to creep back into our minds.
Right then watching movies seems like a bright idea. Immersing
ourselves in sugar coated entertainment that could potentially shield us from
the tragic reality surrounding us… It sounds like a good painkiller! However,
we would soon find out that we are in for more disappointment. …ጊዜያዊ ብስጭትን ለመርሳት መጠጥን መፍትሄ አድርጎ ዘላለማዊ ጸጸትን እና የጤና መታወክን እንደሚያተርፍ
ከንቱ ባለትዳር አይነት … As the adrenaline rush from the non-stop
action-thriller movies or suspenseful derby matches of some alien football
league or other captivating cheap amusement fades from our system, severe
depression and the feeling of emptiness (over realizing that all that has been
an illusion) sets in.
Was our dear old grandmother right after all? We can’t
help wondering whether ‘8ኛው ሺ’ (doomsday)
has arrived… are we getting paranoid? Or are things worse than they were some
time ago. That is at least what our parents or other elderly people keep on
telling us. Every time we meet with them it’s always: ‘In our days it used to
be…’
What if we tell you there is a reason all this is happening,
... እንደ እንግዳ ደራሽ እንደ ውሃ ፈሳሽ አይደለም …
it’s all interconnected, and global … and worse, there is a secret organization
composed of few ultra rich, devil worshipping, zillionaires who are striving
overtime to destroy Christianity (and all nationalistic governments) and bring
about one world government and one world religion - what they term THE NEW
WORLD ORDER into reality? And even worse… WE CAN
PROVE IT!!!!

This is not a joke! We are not making it up! The Roman
Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Churches have all been under unceasing
attack and especially Catholicism has largely fallen over. … «የተረበሸ እዛ ከተማ እኛን እዚህኛው ከተማ ምን ቁርጥ አደረገን?» ሊባል ይችላል … ጓደኛህ ሲታማ ለእኔ ብለህ ስማ ነው … and we
believe it is our misconception about the nature as well as the cause of the
crisis that is unsettling our Church. Most of us wrongly assume that the
problems are isolated and unrelated incidents. We attribute many of them to a
decline in the spiritual strength among the fathers. And who dares point at the
straw on the eyes of another (especially one as dear as the clergy)? Sadly that
is not the case. There is and has been an organized, planned and deliberate
effort to weaken and eventually subdue the EOTC. In fact, subduing the EOTC is
only but part of a global endeavor to eradicate even traces of Christianity off
the face of the earth.

been striving for control for the past 500 years – at least! And unfortunately they
are on the verge of asserting full control over every aspect of our lives and
we haven’t got a clue about it – yet!
